The Madrigal Choir of Binghamton enters its forty-seventh season with a vivid choral painting of the four seasons. Madrigals, opera, classical and contemporary music from composers like Massenet, Mendelssohn, Gershwin, and Rutter blend words and music into a rich blend of seasonal inspiration.

The highlight will be a song cycle by Andy Beck who may be familiar to many in the area. Mr. Beck received his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Ithaca College and his master’s degree from Northwestern Missouri State University. Mr. Beck spent nine years as Vocal Music Director at Johnson City High School. The song cycle “captures the beauty, the wonder, and the splendor of nature, with strong melodic writing, vivid poetry, and distinctive harmonic progressions. Innate musicality along with obvious text painting creates a colorful tone picture.”

You are invited to a concert of seasonal compositions that are uplifting, contemplative and mirrors the emotional shifts of the year.
